# Duboisia

_**Duboisia**_ (commonly called **corkwood tree**) is a [genus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genus) of small perennial shrubs and trees up to 14 metres (46 feet) tall, with extremely light wood and a thick corky bark. There are four species; all occur in [Australia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia), and one also occurs in [New Caledonia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Caledonia).

The alternate, glabrous [leaves](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaf) are narrow and elliptical. The [inflorescence](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflorescence) is an open cymose panicle of apically small white [flowers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower), sometimes with a purple or mauve striped tube. They flower profusely in spring. The [fruit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruit) is a small, globular, black, juicy [berry](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berry_(botany)).
